Running out of time to pick up a special gift for dad this Fathers Day? When you protect a share of the future Sydenham River Nature Reserve, you’ll be giving dad all kinds of rare gifts not available in stores.
Two-thirds of Canada’s non-marine reptiles — including the at-risk eastern spiny softshell turtle, northern map turtle, Blanding’s — along with probably a similar percentage of amphibian species — are found here.

Half of Ontario’s bird species pass through the area during migration. Intact woodland like this is extremely rare.

The tulip tree, along with the Kentucky coffee tree and the blue ash is a species only found here, in southwestern Ontario’s Carolinian Zone.

The Sydenham River is home to some of the richest diversity of endangered and at-risk freshwater mussels in the world.

Home to these rare species and more, 98% of this Carolinian habitat has already disappeared. This ribbon of water is one of the last remaining connected green corridors in southwestern Ontario.

This Father’s Day, share a piece of nature with dad and help protect this important piece of land forever.
Bonus: As part of the Canada Helps Great Canadian Giving Challenge, every dollar you donate in June qualifies us to win $10,000 towards the creation of the Sydenham River Nature Reserve.
